What is your opinion on Frontline Flea drops?
I have used Frontline on my dog for several years and have been pleased with results but this last year it does’nt seem to be doing any good,I am using the drops monthly now but she is still being pesterd by fleas,I also use a flea spray for house,
I live in the UK, perhaps fleas are not a big problem here. Nevertheless, most dog owners here seem to use a conventional flea treatment. My fears are, if it poisons the fleas, what damage will it do to our dog?
Over the years, I have had sixteen dogs who have all lived in my house and slept in my bedroom. None of them have been given conventional flea treatments. (My present dog becomes ill if I give her wormers)
There are lots of treatments for killing and preventing fleas, they are full of nasty chemicals and they are expensive. I make up a solution for my dogs which prevents fleas, although it is also said to kill fleas I have no experience of this because my dogs have never had fleas.
Use a few drops of Citricidal and essential oils of Citronella, Tea Tree and Lavender. Add this to half a pint of vinegar or water and sponge a small amount onto your dog’s coat. I use this about twice a week.
I also spray her beds with vinegar and put vinegar in the conditioner drawer of the washing machine when I wash her bedding..
