How do i ship my pet ferret?

I really don’t wanna part ways with my pet, but I’ve recently had to make a tough decision that requires me to move to Cali. The tickets have been purchased with an airline that does not allow ferrets, and I’m already bringing my dog on board. I need to figure out a way to ship my ferret all the way to Cali. plz help
I live in Chicago, the tickets are non refundable, and from what i hear the only airline that does allow in Delta. I’m flying on AA.

Ferrets are forbidden in California so NO airline is going to allow you to transport one to there. If you’re moving to California rehome the ferret with a ferret-knowledgeable friend or surrender it to a ferret shelter.

Question, though, how much do you really care about this ferret considering you not only chose to move to a state where they’re illegal (I haven’t met a ferret owner that ISN’T aware of that) and that you waited to ask AFTER you booked your ticket if ferrets were allowed on the flight????
